Om mee te doen aan de showjourney hoef je geen auditie te doen, maar we vragen je wel om naast de trainingen wekelijks minstens één volledige les (3 uur) bij Poetic Motion te volgen, en al minstens een jaar les bij ons te volgen, zodat je de danstechnieken die we toepassen kent en begrijpt.
Goed om in de gaten te houden: in principe vindt de showjourney plaats op zondagochtend, maar door de coronamaatregelen kan dit de komende tijd afwijken.
Showjourney
In de showjourney maak je kennis met het proces van social dans naar showdans en wat de verschillen en overeenkomsten zijn tussen social technieken en showtechnieken.
Samen met de andere dansers leer je die technieken kennen en beheersen. Je steunt, inspireert en motiveert elkaar in die ontwikkeling. Je zult jezelf leren kennen, je krachten en je zwaktes. Uitdagingen zullen op je pad komen, barrières die je moet overwinnen… Maar belangrijk blijft dat je geniet! Tijdens het leren, ontwikkelen en ook tijdens het dansen van een show.
Let wel op! Het optreden is niet het hoofddoel van deze lessen, maar natuurlijk wel een heel leuk en interessant onderdeel. Het gaat voornamelijk om je eigen proces. Kom samen en deel je passie!
Hoe zien de lessen eruit?
Van 12:00 tot 13:00 uur is de algemene techniektraining. Daarin werken we aan showtechnieken en creëren we een brug van de reguliere lessen naar de showtraining. De focus ligt op spierontwikkeling, flexibiliteit, coördinatie, mentale bewustwording en persoonlijke begeleiding.
Daarnaast is er ruimte voor specifieke projecten waaraan dansers meedoen op uitnodiging van de docenten. Hier verwerken we de showtechnieken in een showvorm. In deze training geven we extra aandacht aan ruimtelijke oriëntatie en groepsdynamiek. Goed om te weten: deelname aan de lessen betekent geen automatische garantie voor deelname aan optredens.

Wat verwachten we van jou?
Naast de showjourney volg je minimaal 1 lesdag (3 uur per week) bij Poetic Motion. Verder volg je minstens een jaar les. Daarnaast verwachten we van jou:

De kosten voor showschoenen zijn voor eigen rekening.

Start of the new Showjourney group!
Do you want to share your passion for dance with others? Do you want to learn more about the process from social to show dance? Are you ready for the next step in your development as a dancer?
New dancers are always welcome in the Showjourney group! Come join us!
To be part of the Showjourney, you don’t have to audition, but we do ask you to follow at least one class at Poetic Motion per week (so 3 hours) besides the training. We also ask that you follow our classes for at least a year, so you know and understand the techniques that we apply.
Good to know: the Showjourney takes place in Sunday mornings, but this may change temporarily due to the corona measures.
Showjourney
In the showjourney, you will learn about the process from social to show dance and the differences and similarities between social techniques and show techniques.
Together with the other dancers, you will learn and control thoses techniques. You support, inspire and motivate each other in the development. You will learn about yourself, your strengths and weaknesses. Challenges will come your way, barriers to overcome… But most important is that you enjoy yourself! During the learning process, your own development and also when you dance a show.
Good to know! Performing is not the main purpose of these classes, but it is of course a fun and interesting part of it. The main focus is your own process. Come together and share your passion!
What do the classes look like?
From 12 to 1, there is a general technique training. We work on show techniques and connect the regular classes with the show training. We will focus on muscle development, flexibility, coordination, mental awareness and personal attention.
Before and after the training, there is time for specific projects for dancers to join by invitation from the teachers. In these projects, we will create a show using the show techniques. In these trainings, we will pay extra attention to spatial orientation and group dynamics. Good to know: participating in the classes is no guarantee for performing.

Showjourney + 3 hours regular classes per week – € 149 per month
This is including the costs for your show outfit, but not including costs for shoes for performances.
